What will you learn?

This one-day session takes you through the principles of digital imaging technology, from digital cameras, scanning to image manipulation (PhotoShop), page set up as used in leaflet, magazine, web design, and printing.

You gain an insight into the possibilities that digital imaging technology holds. This session could lead on to other training sessions with a more targeted approach.

What previous experience will you need?

No knowledge necessary, but basic computer practice would be an advantage.

Digital Photography

• Introduction to a range of cameras
• Controlling the camera
• Taking digital photographs and transferring them to the computer

Image Manipulation

• Opening digital images
• Basic image processing eg. removing
• blemishes and simple montaging
• Different methods of saving work

Scanning

• Principles of scanning
• Colour adjustment

Printing

• Different printer types
• Ways of achieving best print quality
